Description:

A chrome extension that allows you to modify and save the layouts of any web page(change the size and position of elements). The hope of doing this is to allow you to have web pages that fit your own personal process.

Inspiration:

Each of us has their unique tastes. Although most of the most commonly used websites today have good enough web page designs, it is still not uncommon for us to desire a different and persistent personal layout for web pages, whether to simply add a touch of personality or to increase convenience. More importantly, there are some less common, badly designed, but important websites out there(especially the ones for professionals), the designs of which were at best ugly, at worst impractical. People who have to regularly use these kinds of websites would especially benefit from out extension because a better layout for them would directly translate to a productivity boost.

What it does:

Our project aims to make websites, especially uncommonly used and badly designed ones more usable and enjoyable for individuals.

How we built it:

We used Visual Studio Code to make using Git easy. We often brainstormed on the same problem together and sometimes split the work to work on our own.

Challenges we ran into:

It was difficult to create the overlays that allow us to modify the div elements. Especially, dealing with relative position. It was also difficult to drag and resize the elements, sometimes many at a time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

We are all really proud of our perseverance, unity, and having a well-working project.

What we learned:

We learned Git, JavaScript in general, Visual Studio IDE, Chrome extension development.

What's next:

We will work on improving the graphical interface so that it can be added to the chrome web store, and we would also like to use it ourselves on a daily basis.

HTML, CSS, tJavaScript, Lack of Sleep™, Love <3
