Description:
Our project makes deciding which AirBnB to pick less stressful, painful. It does this by giving you a score based on crime index of the area and other factors including number of reviews, rating, amenties. etc This project is available as a website, an android app and a chrome extension.
Inspiration:
We wanted to find safe places to stay when we travel.
What it does:
Provides a overall score for any AirBnB listing using crime index to calculate safety of the area, number of reviews received, rating and amenities.
How we built it:
Website built using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, flask, mako. Backend built using Flask-Python along with external API's Chrome Extension built using JavaScript, CSS , HTML Android App built using Java
Challenges we ran into:
Wanted to make voice assistant, AirBnB API was not accessible/available.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Everything came together and it works!!!!!
What we learned:
Javascript/ making chrome extensions, how to make http requests on a lot of platforms and parsing html on the backend
