Description:

A platform for discovering and organizing competitive eSports Tournaments for everyone.

Inspiration:

We all have loved video games since we were young but have now just noticed how video games were becoming more popular with non-traditional gamers. We see that there is a big shift in the eSports industry and we wanted to be a part of it!

What it does:

Our project provides a platform on a web application for organizing competitive eSports Tournaments for everyone.

How we built it:

We are using Reactjs, Node, Serverless, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda Functions to serve or back-end API, and the Google Cloud Engine to serve the web application.

Challenges we ran into:

We had to learn React and about the pros and cons of using it, and how to integrate a React application with other platforms such as the Google Cloud Service for hosting and AWS for backend services. The challenge was trying to figure out how to do all of that and spending hours that can't be counted on one hand on debugging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Building a web application in React and learning how to use Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Services a lot better.

What we learned:

Reactjs, how to host an application on Google Cloud Services, how to use Amazon Web Services as backend, and a whole lot about serverless applications.

What's next:

Fully flesh out all functionalities for the application to have a functional platform that can scale. We will then pitch it at the Berthium Minute Pitch Challenge.

Built with:

We are using Reactjs, Node, Serverless, DynamoDB, AWS LAmbda Functions, and the Google Cloud Platform to serve the serverless web application.

Prizes we're going for:
