Description:

An app that empowers chronic illness sufferers to record daily analytics about themselves (mood, pain, sleep, medication) in order to empower patients with accessible tools to communicate with their doctors to communicate about these factors.

Inspiration:

We were inspired by all of the people in our lives managing chronic illness and hope to make their lives easier.

What it does:

An app that empowers chronic illness sufferers to record daily analytics about themselves (mood, pain, sleep, medication) in order to empower patients with accessible tools to communicate with their doctors to communicate about these factors.

How we built it:

We used Android Studio. We used XML and Java.

Challenges we ran into:

We first tried to use React but we had installation problems So we decided to use Android Studio. Since most members of the team were not familiar with Android Studio, we had to learn most of our tool from scratch. We came across some issues such as errors when trying to link our buttons in XML to functions in Java.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

It is incredibly admirable how everyone in the team was willing to learn something they were completely unfamiliar with. We all worked together and helped each other.

What we learned:

Aside from communication skills, we definitely learned about the basic fundamentals of Android Studio as well as using GitHub in a team.

What's next:

We definitely plan to continue working on the project after the hackathon is over, with definitely more research into using Android Studio. We want to link our navigation buttons with our built activities to measure the data.

Built with:

Android Studio.
